The Raven is the trickster deity of the Native North-Americans of the Northwest, representing the chaotic aspect of nature. Incarcerating Raven is a musical representation of my experience of the psycho/spiritual conflicts caused by extreme rationalism, and its attempt to deny, destroy or control the chaotic and playful aspects of living. The piece is both serious and tongue-in-cheek.
